Great Lakes Clean Water Organization is a Non-Profit Corporation based in Michigan. State of Michigan Corporation #7040V. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors. Great Lakes Clean Water was formed to:
1. Provide educational programs, materials, information and events that promote the importance of clean water in Michigan and throughout the Great Lakes region.
2. To promote the collection and diposal of unused/unwanted drugs in a safe and approved manner. This will keep harmful effects of drugs out of ground water, surface water and municpal water systems in Michigan and the Great Lakes region.

Great Lakes Clean Water was officially formed in January 2009.
We are a tax exempt 501(c) 3 Non Profit Organization 
Since forming we have
1. Conducted a survey of Pharmacists in Northeast Michigan 
2. Conducted a pilot program with 12 pharmacies May through July 2009 funded by United Water of Alpena.
3. Received financial support for the Yellow Jug Old Drugs program from United Water and the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan.                                    
4. Expanded the Yellow Jug Old Drugs program to 24 pharmacies providing the program to
19 communities and every county in Northeast Michigan.                                                                                                      
Our goals for 2010 are
1. To continue to raise awareness about the harmful effects that unwanted/unused drugs have on our water systems.
2. To  provide the Yellow Jug Old Drugs Program to more communities throughout Michigan.
